This class has honestly taught me so much over the course of the semester. My biggest takeaway from this course will be the steps to the design thinking process and how this thinking process can be applied to a variety of real life situations. It solves a real problem while creating value at the same time. It challenges us sometimes but that’s what leads to the best ideas. Additionally, with design thinking you can leverage collective wisdom as you work in teams with diverse individuals. We do not all think the same and the way a business student thinks could be different than the way a philosophy major may think. However, bringing in multiple personalities and thinking styles gives us more wisdom, experiences, and skills. One thing I really enjoyed about this class and about business classes in general is that we typically get to work in teams. Often, we are in teams with similar business students that have the same major. However, in Professor Luchs class, I felt as if it was a real-life situation where we got to work with people coming from different backgrounds and majors. I would definitely recommend this class to my peers. I love that it is interactive. I found the readings to be very interesting and I looked forward to writing my blogs. It is not like a typical assignment. I felt that with writing the blogs you had more freedom. I loved prototyping with my peers. Furthermore, as a student, I personally learn best and focus best when I am doing something hands on so I am really glad the majority of this class was not your typical boring lecture hall style class where no one raises their hand and there is no discussion or hands on activities. My favorite class day was the Friday where we set up our white boards and pitched to peers, professors, and executive partners. I felt like our hard work really paid off that day when I saw all the positive responses to our proposed idea of water soluble face washes. Overall, my favorite course this semester!!
